Front TruTurn Suspension System with Coilover Geometry Correction

The Ridetech 11329599 front TruTurn system corrects front end steering and suspension geometry on a 1978 to 1988 GM G-body. It replaces the factory upper and lower control arms, tie rods, and related steering linkage with tubular Ridetech StrongArms and billet-adjustable steering components, built for use with coilover or ShockWave front suspension. The taller upper ball joints add camber gain through the range of travel, and the geometry keeps bumpsteer under 0.065 inch through 5 inches of suspension travel. The redesigned arms also open up clearance for tires up to 275mm wide.

FAQ

Will this fit my G-body exactly as listed

This system fits 1978 to 1988 GM G-body cars including Monte Carlo, Malibu, Regal, Cutlass, 442, Grand National, Grand Prix, and El Camino on the front end.

What is included in the box

This system includes the upper and lower StrongArm control arms with ball joints and bushings, the outer tie rods, and the billet tie rod adjusters.

Does this work with my coilover or ShockWave setup

Yes. This TruTurn system is built specifically for cars running coilover or ShockWave front suspension rather than the factory spring and shock setup.

Will this affect my bumpsteer or handling

The geometry is designed to hold bumpsteer under 0.065 inch through 5 inches of suspension travel, which reduces unwanted steering input from suspension movement.

Can I run wider tires with this system

Yes. The redesigned arms open up clearance for tires up to 275mm wide.

Can I install this myself or do I need a professional

This system involves front suspension and steering geometry changes. A certified technician is recommended if you are not experienced with suspension and steering work.

Does this come with a warranty

This part is covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Retain your receipt as proof of purchase.

Do I need an alignment after installation

Yes. An alignment is required after installing new control arms and tie rods to set the correct camber, caster, and toe.

Installation Instructions

  1. Raise the vehicle and support the chassis on jack stands
  2. Remove the wheel and support the spindle assembly
  3. Disconnect the tie rod ends from the factory steering knuckle
  4. Remove the factory upper and lower control arms from the frame and spindle
  5. Install the new StrongArm control arms and torque all fasteners to the manufacturer’s specification with the suspension loaded
  6. Install the new outer tie rods and billet tie rod adjusters, then set the adjusters to approximate toe
  7. Repeat on the opposite side
  8. Have a full alignment performed before returning the vehicle to normal use
