Oversize 390x36mm Upgrade Rotor for the Dodge Durango (exc SRT) Front Axle
The Rotora HDDurango-390×36 steps beyond a standard replacement size and moves the 2014-2023 Dodge Durango (exc SRT) front axle onto a larger 390x36mm directional disc for owners who need more thermal mass than the stock diameter provides. This HD Challenge kit pairs the larger disc with heavy duty ductile iron calipers so the added rotor mass is matched by caliper rigidity, not just disc size alone. It is intended for Durango owners running heavier loads, trailers, or off road duty who have already identified that a factory sized rotor is not enough.
Key Features
- 390x36mm oversize airfoil slotted or drilled directional disc rings, heat treated and zinc plated for corrosion resistance
- Ductile iron HD calipers engineered for structural stiffness under repeated heavy braking loads
- Stainless steel caliper pistons and dust boot seals for corrosion free, long life operation
- S45C steel bell hats with stainless steel HD float drive hardware for two piece disc expansion management
- S45C carbon steel caliper brackets with all required mounting hardware included
- HD graphite metallic brake pads with enlarged friction surface area for extended thermal capacity and pad life
- DOT compliant stainless steel braided brake lines that reduce hose expansion and firm up pedal feel
- Bolt on compatibility with the factory master cylinder, ABS, and traction control on the Dodge Durango (exc SRT)
- Available in a zinc finish or a range of caliper colors, in slotted or drilled disc style

About Rotora
Rotora designs and manufactures performance and heavy duty brake systems for street, track, and extreme duty vehicle applications. Their engineering background includes supplying brake hardware to armored vehicle, security, and military vehicle manufacturers, which carries directly into the durability standards used on the HD Challenge line. This kit applies that same engineering approach to the Dodge Durango (exc SRT), giving owners braking hardware sized for real world heavy use rather than a cosmetic upgrade.
FAQ
What is the HDDurango-390×36?
The HDDurango-390×36 is a Rotora HD Challenge front axle brake kit built for the 2014-2023 Dodge Durango (exc SRT). It uses a 390x36mm two piece disc, ductile iron HD calipers, and HD graphite metallic pads to increase thermal capacity and stopping power beyond the factory front brakes.
Does this kit work with my factory master cylinder and ABS?
Yes. This kit is designed for full compatibility with the factory master cylinder, ABS, and traction control on the Dodge Durango (exc SRT), with no electronic bypass or modification required.
What vehicles does the HDDurango-390×36 fit?
This kit fits the 2014-2023 Durango. Check the fitment table above to confirm your specific model year and trim before ordering.
Should I choose slotted or drilled discs?
Slotted discs resist thermal cracking better and suit sustained heavy use, while drilled discs offer strong wet weather bite and a more aggressive look. Caliper and pad hardware is identical between both finish options.
What caliper colors are available?
This kit ships in a zinc finish or a range of caliper colors including red, white, yellow, orange, green, light blue, blue, silver, and black.
Can I pair this kit with a different brand kit on the opposite axle?
This kit functions independently on the front axle, but for balanced brake bias Rotora recommends pairing it with the matching HD Challenge kit for the opposite axle on the Durango.
What pads come installed?
This kit ships with HD graphite metallic pads sized for the front axle. Upgraded compounds are available from Rotora for track or extreme duty use beyond the included street pads.
Is a brake bed in procedure required after installing the HDDurango-390×36?
Yes. The new discs carry a zinc coating that must be worn off with light stops before pad material transfers evenly to the disc surface through a series of progressively harder stops.
Does the HDDurango-390×36 include a warranty?
Rotora HD Challenge kits, including the HDDurango-390×36, are covered by Rotora’s manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Contact Rotora or your reseller for full terms.
Install Instructions
- Raise the vehicle, engage the parking brake, and remove both front wheels
- Loosen the hard brake line fitting at each front caliper and cap it to minimize fluid loss
- Remove the OEM caliper, bracket, and rotor assembly from each side
- Clean the hub face and install the new S45C caliper bracket using the original mounting bolts torqued to specification
- Mount the new 390x36mm disc assembly to the hub, confirming directional orientation for each side
- Insert the HD graphite metallic brake pads into the caliper and install guide pins through both pad mounting ears
- Mount the caliper onto the bracket and torque caliper bolts to specification
- Install the stainless braided brake lines along the same path as the OEM hoses
- Bleed the brake system starting with the caliper farthest from the master cylinder
- Reinstall the wheels torqued to factory spec and complete the full break in procedure before normal driving
